King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST)
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
The Badir Program Complex is a multi-disciplined business and technology incubator established to attract, engage and support Saudi entrepreneurs in the exploration and establishment of new businesses in four (4) technology sectors: Biotechnology, Advanced Manufacturing and Materials, Information & Communications Technology, and Energy & Nanotechnology.
Unique in the world, this facility will house these four technologies, as well as the KACST Library under one 42,000 square meter (452,000 sq. ft.) facility. In addition to these specialized research laboratories, the headquarters of BADIR will have their offices within the same location. In order to comply with the KACST masterplan, the facility provides two levels of underground parking pushing the built-up area to approximately 74,000 square meters (797,000 sq. ft.). The design is to be sustainable, adhere to the KACST campus masterplan standards and provide inspirational and collaborative spaces for the future business leaders of Saudi Arabia.
While at Torus Design, Matthew Mann served as the Director of Design for all projects in Saudi Arabia.
